
If either of the following criteria is met, then an applicant can rely on a salary ranging from 70-90% of relevant market rate for the job:
Where an applicant has a job offer in a Specific Shortage Occupation;
Where an applicant has a Post-Doctral position in Science or Higher Education;
Where an applicant has a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) PhD Level Qualification relevant to the Job
Where an applicant is a ‘new Entrant’ To The UK Labour Market.
A New Entrant is a person under 26 years of age on the date they submit their application and:
Are applying for a maximum of three years’ leave for skilled worker.
Are Postdoctoral researchers in sponsored positions.
Are Those In Professional Training Or Studying For Professional Qualifications, Registration or Chartered Status
Are a Recent Graduate,
Are in In Professional Training.
The salary requirement for a New Entrant in any role is 30% lower than experienced staff, with a minimum wage of £20,480. However, people employed in the healthcare or educational fields may be subject to other wage regulations.
